My name is Liz Phillips, and I’m a Senior Marketing Manager at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., where I manage the overall marketing strategy and execution of Vuforia, the industry-leading mobile vision software platform that enables apps to see and connect the physical world with digital and augmented reality experiences that demand attention and drive engagement.
For a geek at heart like me, this is something I have worked for my entire career. I am enthusiastic about the fast-changing world of technology and its effects on the mobile industry and on people’s lives.
I didn't come by my personnel passion for tech by accident. I am the daughter of an engineer and grew up watching first-hand as technology evolved before my eyes.
My focus is in marketing technology and have enjoyed both digital marketing and social media roles. At some point in my career, I would like to move into business development, because I like connecting with people and helping them drive their businesses.
I have a well-established track record in new media marketing as an early adopter in the social space. I feel fortunate to have gained the know-how and experience to effectively communicate to an online, always-connected audience.
I put my own time, money and passion into staying on the cutting-edge, and then created a role that previously did not exist within HP. I did the same thing during my time at TaylorMade, creating ground-breaking projects and marketing programs, some of my proudest achievements.
Now, I’m meeting new challenges with Qualcomm where I get to work with smart and passionate technologists, people who “get” technology and want to change the way people communicate.

As a senior marketing manager for Qualcomm, I lead strategy and execution of marketing for Vuforia, a software platform for computer vision that enables apps to see and allows developers to build augmented reality (AR) apps that rise to the best in their class.
I lead and collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop and implement high impact programs for events, digital marketing, social media and public relations.
My team delivers data-driven market, customer and insights to define marketing strategy, optimize marketing plans, and measure success of programs.

TaylorMade-Adidas Golf is the #1 golf company in the world comprised of three brands: TaylorMade Golf, adidas Golf and Ashworth Golf. The company builds products that help golfers of all skill levels reach their potential.
During my tenure at TaylorMade, I established the company’s social marketing program and created initiatives to accomplish overall brand objectives. I also defined and measured key performance indicators.
That led to a 210 percent increase in social media channel communities year over year with higher engagement numbers per follower and increased referral traffic to the site.
♦ Launched R1 Virtual, an iOS and Android augmented reality app that enabled consumers to experience the company’s newest golf driver before it was available in retail. That generated 300K+ combined video views and downloads within the first four weeks of launch.
♦ Established U.S. Open Social Hub, eight user-generated brand campaigns, and a first ever live Q&A homepage takeover for a product launch.

I created CRM campaigns and a monthly newsletter for HP web-connected printing customers. Managed official company Twitter account, monitored social media channels.

I was the chief blogger and community strategist for HP ePrintCenter, an online portal for customers of web-connected printers. Built internal community strategy and external social media strategy. Also acted as program manager for SDK (software developer kit) for HP Print Apps.
I led advertising and trade show strategy and execution for three launches and a re-launch of HP iPrintPhoto, a free mobile app for iOS, Android, WinMo, and Symbian platforms.
In addition, I established and led a multi-channel strategy for crisis communications, coordinating with public relations, legal, customer support, customer relations management and worldwide social media teams.

I managed the overall competitive product, market, and technology analysis and response for snapshot and wide-format specialty photo printing categories attaining the No. 1 market-share position.
During that time, I predicted with near 100 percent accuracy three-year future product roadmaps for key competitors, which were utilized in business planning cycles.

I developed integrated marketing programs on a semi-annual basis for 10 original equipment manufacturer accounts focused on industrial printing markets.
• Planned and executed more than $1 million in co-marketing programs in FY06.

I launched a company-wide internal news site for employees that received 10,000-plus hits per day within three months of launch, and overhauled the existing employee bulletin to create a company-wide business-focused monthly newsletter. I edited the new publication while managing six contributing writers.
